Our sincerest apologies for these intrusions of ill-mannered capitalism

This site displays a selection of duly approved mercantile notices, intended to sustain the Consul's lavish standard of living.
They may induce slight aesthetic discomfort, yet their insidious charm may leave you yearning for more.

      About the Syldavian Consulate

This website is, alas, a parody. The Kingdom of Syldavia (that venerable Balkan realm of moustaches, mineral water, and vigorous goat-dance twisting) is a fictional creation of Belgian cartoonist Hergé, as chronicled in The Adventures of Tintin. That said, we cordially invite you to disregard this regrettable fact across all other pages of the site and, if possible, in your daily life.

“When Man truly believes in his dreams, he brings them to life.” — Hergé

      The Adventures of Tintin

First published in 1929, The Adventures of Tintin spans 24 comic albums. Translated into over 110 languages and with more than 270 million copies sold, Tintin’s adventures have outlived empires, dodged censors, and captivated generations with their ligne claire artwork, narrative momentum, and a world where passports are optional but plot twists mandatory (a policy the Consulate does not endorse).

      References & Acknowledgements

This site draws upon a selection of highly reputable resources curated by accredited Tintinologists and long-serving enthusiasts. Their diligent work has been indispensable in reconstructing the linguistic, cultural, historical, and geopolitical foundations of Syldavia, as originally outlined in the sacred cartographic and narrative archives of Hergé.

We extend our most solemn and bureaucratically endorsed gratitude to the communities whose scrutiny of fictional minutiae spared this parody an unacceptable degree of conjecture and unauthorised improvisation.
